• IE 4 MAGIC FIX

So you just reinstalled Windows 9x and things aren't quite right.  Your MS Office won't work, and you get strange errors at bootup.  If you have IE 4, we have you quick and painless fix.  Download the IE4 removal files from ftp.onsitenj.com. 

copy the explorer.exe file into the windows directory
copy the other files into the system directory
del c:\windows\system\setupwvb.dll
del c:\windows\system\softpub.dll
re-install ie4
if any errors come up, de-install IE4 from control panel, and then re-install it.
***NOTE - If you getan msvcirt.dll error, you must install office 97 BEFORE IE4.

• NO WINDOWS!?

Can't get your system to boot into Windows 9x but it boots to DOS just fine?   Check the config.sys for a DOS=SINGLE line.  If there is one, delete it.   This occurs after a DOS based application errors on install.
